Windmills and windpumps have been a bit of an obsession for me over the years. When I haven't had time to paint them I have photographed them. When my children were small, and we needed an excuse for going somewhere, my trusty windmill gazeteer would provide the destination. We have trudged through woods, climbed many a hill, trespassed at times (i.e. walk in first and trust that if the owner is there they will recognise a windmill nut when they see one- such as once happened when we drove into the courtyard of one of Paul McCartney's estates) and got wet and cold.
